CCKMA-QC is proud to award two $500 nursing scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year — one to a male applicant and one to a female applicant.

About the Scholarship

The CCKMA-QC Nursing Scholarship was created to support students pursuing a career in nursing while recognizing individuals whose lives have been impacted by cancer.

Applicants must submit an original 400–800 word essay describing how cancer has affected their life, either through their own personal experience or through the experience of a family member.

Applicants are encouraged to address:

• Clear career goals in healthcare
• Dependability, adversity, and the ability to overcome challenges
• Volunteer or work experience, especially in healthcare or community service

Applicant Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a senior in high school or a current college student in their first or second year
• Be enrolling in an undergraduate course of study for the 2027–2028 academic year
• Be accepted into or currently enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for nursing in the United States
• Submit a completed essay by the application deadline

Selection Process

Applications will be evaluated using the following scoring criteria:

• Essay: 20 points
• Community Service and/or Work Experience: 15 points
• Leadership/Character: 5 points

March 1, 2027 — Judging/scoring deadline
March 15, 2027 — Scholarship recipients contacted and winners announced
